Bob Loose and his grandson Drake Dazzaroni watch as 31 white-faced ibises return to the wild Thursday, September 9, 2007, at the Vic Fazio Yolo Wildlife Area east of Davis, Calif. The International Bird Rescue Research Center rescued the helpless, hungry chicks after their parents were forced by a farmer to abandon them in July. Loose and others adopted every bird for $100 each which allowed the volunteers at IBRRC to feed, care for and release these unique and rarely seen birds.
